Entrepreneurship for Opportunity Actualization (EOpAct) is an African Wide Internship Program being implemented by Agribusiness in Sustainable Natural African Plant Products (ASNAPP) in five Africa Countries (Ghana, South Africa, Zambia, Senegal and Liberia) with initial funding from USAID through the Africa Lead II internship-based Agribusiness Leadership Program (ALP).
EOpAct aims at providing distinctive services to graduates, youth and women to build their technical, managerial and vocational capacities to fit into agricultural value chains, job markets and business opportunities capacities. EOpAct is “on-the-job” internship programme where; Graduates (Universities, Polytechnics, Colleges), youth and women are placed with firms to acquire hands-on, vocational and managerial skills to become Entrepreneurs, Employable or Employers. Agribusiness SMEs are placed to firms for mentorship to sharpen their technologies and business management skills to become productive, profitable and competitive. Student interns will also be attached to firms for practical hands-on training during their long vacation to expose them to industry skills, establish linkages and offer opportunity for them to be engaged for full internship after their national services. More than 80% of students placed as interns to firms were retained for permanent jobs. (www.eopact.com)
